This is Nina's Postcard No 11 of 18. updated 10th August 2003 Diary extract: Day 19, Weds 23rd July Valence-Grenoble (Vercours mountain range) 110 Km Day 20, Thurs 24th July Grenoble region 40 Km Day 21, Fri 25th July Grenoble-Aix les Bains (Alps) 70 Km Day 22, Sat 26th July Aix-les-Bains to Annecy 60 Km Day 23, Sun 27th July Maison-Neuve area 0 Km! Nina's Message, dated 26/07/03, reads: " The Mountains (close to the Alps) were stunning, especially arriving at this quiet village stuck beautifully sandwiched between the aquaduct and the mountains behind. 20 miles of uphill which we managed to cycle (unlike Roy and Gordon) thanks to our improved fitness (or was it the bikes that were improved?!) 20 miles downhill into sprawling Grenoble were fantastic. We slept in a hay barn that night and a grassy field last night.
