Day 1, Sat 5 July, 1953: Plymouth-Weymouth via Exeter (UK) 150 Km

 Day 1 news update:
They left Turnchapel Village
near Plymouth this morning
at about 10.30am, to catch the train
to Exeter. They intend to follow the
original route as closely as possible.
It is exactly 50 years since the day
when Roy Jenkin and Gordon Newbery
set off on their 2286 mile adventure
around battle-scarred France,
Switzerland and Germany.
