Day 5, Weds 9th July Bain-de-Bretagne - Nantes (Loire Valley) 80 Km
Day 6, Thurs 10th July Nantes-Lucon via La Roche 90 Km
Day 7, Fri 11th July Lucon-Royan, La Rochelle and Rochefort 90 Km
Day 8, Sat 12th July Royan area 15 Km
Day 9, Sunday 13th July Royan-Bordeaux via Blaye 120 Km


 Postcard 5

The Message: " This Region between
Rochefort and Bordeaux is very agricultural -
field after field of wine groves sunflowers and even melons. It is really hot 35 deg C,
which is making the going hard, and the
23rd puncture even more frustrating.
We cycled yesterday like the New
Beaujolais run to try and catch up, we slept
yesterday in a park and last night in the
grounds of a showjumping contest.
The locals all seem to have the same attitude to sleeping rough -
'sure if you want to' "
